Bayley made her official main roster debut at Sunday’s WWE Battleground. She was Sasha Banks’ mystery partner and the duo faced off against Charlotte and Dana Brooke.
Bayley was signed to a developmental deal in late 2012 and she made her debut under a mask in late January 2013. She eventually became one of the most popular names in NXT and her match at last year’s NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn against Sasha Banks was named as the Match Of The Year in a WWE.com poll. For months, there had been talk about Bayley moving up to the main roster but there have been delays. To her credit, she had become one of NXT biggest draws at the house shows so that’s the main reason why they held off on her. It will be interesting to see how she’s handled on the main roster. There is tons of merchandising potential with her and many have called her the female version of John Cena.
She will be facing Asuka for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT TakeOver: Back To Brooklyn so it looks like she will be pulling double duty until next month.
