Bayley on Peyton Royce: “She just hasn’t had that spotlight yet. It kills me that she hasn’t had that yet”

Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley was interviewed this week on the Table Talk podcast. She talked about WrestleMania plans that didn’t happen, her plans outside of WWE, her dream opponent and a lot more.

Here are some highlights:

Bayley talked about her heel turn: “I was thinking what would I have done if I stayed face and no fans to hug? Perfect timing I guess. At first, it was hard. I thought being in this character and not having to be this hugger anymore and be so happy all the time was going to help me conserve my energy and not have to turn it on so much every night. After a while it gets tough and you have to give it 200% when you are known as this happy, bubbly character. But, it’s just as hard to try to change my whole personality and just be mad all the time and to find reasons to be angry. Luckily before the whole pandemic happened, I was able to get in some runs on live events and get that practice. It was definitely hard to switch. It was definitely harder than I thought it was going to be. But now it is so much fun. I think I’ve found my niche where I can find a piece of my personality in it and use that to make this bigger.”

Bayley talked about Peyton Royce: “I’ve always seen something in her. When she first started, her and Billie Kay lived with me for the first month when they moved to America because it was hard when they were coming all the way from Australia to find an apartment. It’s hard to get a car. I knew Billie from before. I didn’t know Peyton at all but she was awesome and super sweet. Once I saw her get in the ring, I was like, wow dude, you’re incredible. I’ve always had an eye for her. She just hasn’t had the time to show that even when IIconics were the Tag Team Champions. She just hasn’t had that spotlight yet. It kills me that she hasn’t had that yet.”
