WWE announced last week that Bayley suffered an injury while training in the ring at the WWE Performance Center. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion is on the sidelines with a torn ACL as it happened in what was said to be a freak accident when she was chain wrestling in the ring with another WWE star.
WWE had made it mandatory that all wrestlers participate in training sessions ahead of their return to live event touring.
Bayley underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL on Thursday. She took to Twitter to continue her heel persona as she blamed the fans for making her miss WWE’s first show back on the road.
She wrote, “can’t wait to miss the first show in front of fans again. I blame YOU for this. Thanks a lot.”
A typical timetable for a return from this injury is 9-12 months if not longer. She was supposed to challenge SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair in an I Quit match at Sunday’s WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view event.
