WWE superstar Becky Lynch is set to expand her growing Hollywood resume, landing a co-starring role in the new FX workplace comedy pilot, Movers. The news was first reported by Deadline.
About The Project
Movers is an improvised workplace comedy that revolves around the chaotic lives of a moving crew. The pilot comes from creators Robert Ben Garant and Cathy Shim, best known for the hit Comedy Central series Reno 911!. Garant and Shim will also star in the project.
Lynch joins a talented ensemble cast that includes Maz Jobrani (Friday After Next), Manny Montana (Ironheart), Darius Homayoun (Sex/Life), and stand-up comedian Tanael “TJ” Joachim. The pilot is being produced by 20th Television.
A Growing Hollywood Resume
The role in Movers is the latest in a series of major acting projects for Lynch (real name Rebecca Quin). She is set to appear in the highly anticipated Netflix movie Happy Gilmore 2, which premieres on July 25. The report also notes she will soon appear in Alex Kurtzman’s Star Trek series for Paramount+.
These new roles build upon her previous acting work, which includes an appearance on the Showtime drama Billions, performing stunts for the series Vikings, and portraying music icon Cyndi Lauper on NBC’s Young Rock. Outside of acting, her 2024 memoir, Becky Lynch: The Man: Not Your Average Average Girl, became a New York Times bestseller, cementing her status as a crossover star.
Juggling Two Careers
The report from Deadline notes Lynch’s recent success in the wrestling ring, highlighting her return at WrestleMania 41 where she teamed with Lyra Valkyria to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship from Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Lynch went on to turn on Lyra and went on to win the WWE IC Title from her. The report raises the key question of what a potential series pickup for Movers would mean for her full-time wrestling career.
Lynch is scheduled to defend her championship against both Valkyria and Bayley in a Triple Threat match at the upcoming Evolution premium live event.
