Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch did an interview with GQ to promote WrestleMania 35 where she spoke about a wide range of topics including facing WWE Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in a Triple Threat Winner Takes All Match that will headline the show.
One topic stood out in this interview, which is about why Seth Rollins needs to beat WWE Universal Brock Lesnar for the title as she thinks if Rollins can dethrone “The Beast,” then the business would benefit from it.
“For the future of the business, Seth Rollins needs to take that championship off of Brock Lesnar. It needs to be defended on shows. It’s not fair that it’s being held, hostage. If Seth Rollins is the champion, then we’re going to see that, because that man works his a** off and delivers every single time. He deserves to be the champion and the people deserve to have him as champion.”
Lynch would also bring Rousey into the conversation as she thinks Rousey is also part-time and doesn’t respect the business. It should be noted that Rousey is on the majority of Monday Night Raw episodes and does work some live events.
“They’re champions that are part timers, champions that have been handed everything because they’ve got a name, champions who don’t show any respect for the business and don’t care about the future of it. That’s the difference between Seth and myself and Brock and Ronda: Seth and I care. We love this industry, we love this business.”
