It turns out that Becky Lynch made history at WrestleMania 36.
She did so when she successfully retained the WWE Raw Women’s Title over Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania 36 – Night 1 in Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center on the WWE Network.
The official WWE Stats account noted Lynch made history as she was the first woman in WWE history to win a title at WrestleMania and defend that same title at a different WrestleMania.
The first woman in WWE history to do so was WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. The pro wrestling legend won the WWE Women’s Title at WrestleMania 19 in 2003 and later defended it at WrestleMania 21 in 2005. Obviously, she didn’t hold the title for two straight years.
Lynch beat Rousey and Charlotte Flair to win the WWE Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles at WrestleMania 35 in a Winner Take All Match. Rousey has since been on hiatus from WWE.
.@BeckyLynchWWE becomes the second woman in @WWE history to win a championship at #WrestleMania and defend the SAME title at a different @WrestleMania. The only other woman to do that is @trishstratuscom, with the original #WWE Women’s Championship.
