Initially, it was announced that Becky Lynch and Asuka would be rematching for the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view next month. However, it was then revealed that the match actually isn’t official for the show quite yet.
It’s unclear what WWE’s plans for Lynch are at the Royal Rumble, but given they took to time to make a graphic for the match, it could possibly happen. Lynch recently took to Twitter to react to the match being announced and then shot down so quickly. Here’s what she had to say:
“What a day, huh? I think I’m going to sit down on an office chair at ringside somewhere and process it all.”

If Lynch doesn’t reclaim the SDL Women’s Title at the Royal Rumble, there’s always the possibility that she participates in the Royal Rumble match. If she wins, it would set up the opportunity for the Irishwoman to challenge Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35.
