Becky Lynch reflects on her 2018 in WWE, reveals expectations for 2019

2018 has been a tremendous year for Becky Lynch. “The Irish Lass Kicker” has emerged as one of WWE’s biggest stars in the company at the moment. In fact, the argument could be made that she is, in fact, the company’s biggest star. It all kicked off this past August at SummerSlam when Lynch attacked Charlotte Flair after their match for the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship. The WWE Universe really rallied behind the Irishwoman, despite WWE’s attempts to turn her heel.

She went on to win the SDL Women’s Title from “The Queen” at the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view, with a successful title defense in the first-ever Last Woman Standing match at WWE’s all-female PPV, Evolution. Of course, Lynch dropped the SDL Women’s Title to Asuka at the Tables Ladders and Chairs PPV earlier this month. That was due to some interference from Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey, who cost Lynch and Flair the match by pushing them off a ladder.

It looks like even bigger plans could be in store for Lynch in the coming months. However, with that being said, 2018 is coming to a close, and Lynch is left to reflect on the biggest year of her WWE career. Taking to Twitter recently, Lynch said that other wrestlers couldn’t take their eyes off her in 2018. Now, she plans to finish what she started come 2019:

“2018: Even the other wrestlers couldn’t take their eyes off me. 2019: I finish this job I started.”

If 2018 was any indication, Lynch could be in store for a huge 2019. With high-profile friends like UFC mega-star Conor McGregor now backing her, the possibilities are endless as to how high Lynch’s star power can rise.
