SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch looks to be ready to get back to action inside the ring. Lynch was initially injured during an episode of Monday Night Raw several weeks ago. Lynch led a SmackDown Live assault on Team Raw, however, she was legitimately punched in the nose by Nia Jax during the segment.
The shot broke Lynch’s nose and gave her a concussion. As a result, she was pulled from her match against Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series. Lynch has been out-of-action from in-ring competition since, however, she is now back as a regular fixture on SmackDown Live. “The Irish Las Kicker” has been announced for the upcoming Tables Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view.
Lynch will defend her SmackDown Live Women’s Title in a Triple Threat TLC match against Asuka and Charlotte Flair at the event. Despite being back on WWE TV, however, many have found it odd that Lynch isn’t working house shows or doing anything physical on television. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided an answer for this.
As it turns out, Lynch is still not fully cleared for an in-ring return. She has been cleared from her concussion, however, Lynch is still not cleared from her nasal fracture. Meltzer said that nasal fractures are fairly predictable in regards to clearance time, and Lynch can be expected to be cleared within the next 11 days. She has been given limited clearance at this point, which is why she has been allowed to be on TV, but can’t participate in any physical contact on shows.
