Becky Lynch has taken the WWE by storm in the past several months. Ever since WWE decided to turn Lynch heel at SummerSlam, where she attacked then-friend Charlotte Flair after winning the SmackDown Live Women’s Title, the WWE Universe has strongly been behind the Irishwoman. In fact, she was expected to be one-half of one of the most highly-anticipated matches of the year.
At Survivor Series, Lynch was set to face Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. However, Lynch suffered a broken nose and concussion during a segment on Raw and was forced off the card. The belief is that WWE will match-up Rousey and Lynch again down the road, likely for the main event of WrestleMania 35.
Speaking to Uproxx recently, Lynch said the match-up makes sense, as she and Rousey are the two biggest stars in WWE at the moment:
“Look, main events of WrestleMania already have “man” written into it, and I am the Man… There [aren’t] two other stars in WWE right now bigger than Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey, and for that reason and that reason alone, that should be the main event.
“If we look at the trajectory of WrestleMania and WWE and who gets the main event spot, it’s always the top draw. And it’s always the people that are bringing the most people into the stands. Well, that’s the Man.”
