Becky Lynch Slaps CM Punk In Heated In-Ring Confrontation On Raw

Tonight’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw from Paris, France, featured a lengthy and tense in-ring confrontation between CM Punk and Becky Lynch that escalated to Lynch repeatedly slapping Punk. The segment was a direct result of the controversial finish to the World Heavyweight Championship match at Clash in Paris, where Lynch’s interference cost Punk the title.

The segment began with CM Punk coming to the ring, announcing he was taking over the show until the champion, Seth Rollins, came out to face him like a man. Instead of Rollins, it was his wife, Becky Lynch, who answered the call, entering to her husband’s theme music.

Lynch declared that she was the person Punk would have to deal with, stating that the issue had everything to do with her family. She said she was tired of listening to Punk berate Rollins, who she described as the greatest man she has ever known. In response, Punk indicated that he believes her husband is a coward.

Lynch continued, stating that Rollins has sacrificed more for the business than Punk could comprehend. She also directed comments toward the fans, noting that when they would chant Punk’s name during her own matches, it showed they didn’t care about her or the hard work she was putting in.

She then directed her comments back at Punk, labeling him the “poster child for apathy” instead of the “Voice of the Voiceless.” Lynch told Punk that she and Rollins needed him to get out of their way and concluded by wishing him the best in his future endeavors.

Punk responded to Lynch’s promo by stating that the fans chant his name whether he is a champion or not. He then repeated his assertion that Rollins is a coward who hides behind many people, and that he was now hiding behind his wife.

Punk then addressed Lynch directly, acknowledging her status as “The Man” and stating she is more than just somebody’s wife. He followed this by suggesting she has bad taste and married someone beneath her.

At this point, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins appeared on the entrance stage and taunted Punk, telling him to come say what he had to say to his face. As Punk attempted to leave the ring to confront him, Lynch blocked his path, allowing Rollins to walk to the back.

When Punk turned around, Lynch slapped him across the face. She continued to slap him while asking what he was going to do about it, which prompted an “AJ Lee” chant from the live crowd. Lynch shut the chant down, saying that she doesn’t work in WWE. Lynch then called Punk pathetic.

Punk delivered a final warning, stating he would make Rollins regret ever cashing in on him, and that Lynch would regret ever putting her hands on him.

Lynch retorted that she already regretted touching his sweaty body and would have to wash her hands in bleach. The segment concluded with Lynch taunting Punk and attepting to get the fans to chant “goodbye” at Punk. They didn’t want to hear it and she was drowned out by boos.
