After rumors of Ben Carter potentially heading to WWE, Dave Meltzer confirmed it in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Per the report, Carter has signed a deal with WWE. Rumors of this happening had been circulating for several weeks. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on whether he’ll be wrestling in NXT or NXT UK.
It’s also unknown whether AEW or Impact Wrestling offered the UK-born wrestler a contract before he decided to join WWE.
Just last week, AEW star Miro had mentioned on a Twitch live stream that Carter was apparently going to WWE.
Fightful had noted after doing an interview with Carter that he will have to get a working visa. In fact, he basically worked two matches for AEW for free because it would’ve been illegal for them to pay him given his status.
The prospect trained at the Black & Brave Academy, which just so happens to be owned by Seth Rollins and Marek Brave.
Carter made a name for himself when he worked matches against Ricky Starks on Dark and against Lee Johnson on an episode of Dynamite. Earlier this month, he worked a match with Chris Sabin on an episode of Impact Wrestling Xplosion
Carter tested positive for COVID-19 in late-September. He has yet to comment on the signing.
