WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair became the top women’s star on the blue brand when she beat Sasha Banks for the strap at WrestleMania 37 in April.
Now, she has held the title for over 100 days. She took to Twitter today to make note of this milestone and comment on it.
She wrote, “100 of the bEST days of my life as your SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S CHAMPION! Thank you for riding with me… NOW[clapping emoji]LET’S[clapping emoji]WORK[clapping emoji]!!!! #ESTofWWE #Smackdown.”
Since becoming the champion, she has made three title defenses. At WrestleMania: Backlash in May, she beat Bayley then went over the former champion to retain the title a month later at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event. Originally, WWE had plans for Bayley to challenge Bianca for a third straight month at the Money in the Bank show, but that got derailed when Bayley suffered a torn ACL.
WWE changed plans and had Belair retain the title over Carmella on last Friday’s SmackDown. Now, they will have a rematch this Friday on SmackDown.
Although not confirmed, there’s been speculation about Belair defending the title against Banks at SummerSlam next month.
