Big E Breaks Down Wrestlepalooza, Calls Brock Lesnar A “Scary, Scary Individual”

On a special preview edition of the “Raw Recap with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant” podcast, WWE Superstar Big E joined the hosts to provide an in-depth analysis of the five matches scheduled for tomorrow’s inaugural Wrestlepalooza premium live event. The trio discussed the storylines, character dynamics, and potential outcomes for each encounter.

The Usos vs. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed

The conversation began with the tag team match featuring the reunited Usos against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. The panel discussed the apparent lack of cohesion between Jimmy and Jey Uso since they got back together.

“I see two guys who are completely on the same page,” Big E said of Breakker and Reed. “They’ve been aligned… they’re young and hungry, and they’re still making their climb.” He contrasted that with The Usos’ current state. “Tag team wrestling is about being on the same page… but right now, we’re not seeing that. We’re not seeing two guys who are aligned… seeing LA Knight hit Jey Uso with the BFT and leave, and there’s no retaliation from Jimmy. There’s no real reaction from Jimmy. He just looks at him… if you go into a match like this against two absolute killers in Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, and if your head is not on a swivel, if you two are not united in battle, you are not going to win. In fact, you are going to get obliterated.”

Megan Morant added context to the tension, stating, “We’ve been hearing Jimmy Uso tell Jey that he’s acting like the tribal chief, that he sounds a lot like Roman Reigns.” Big E also explored Jey Uso’s potential mindset after his run as a main event singles star. “I wonder if that’s going through Jay’s mind right now is thinking, ‘I’m above this. I’m above Jimmy.’… And that’s my fear, is that Jay is going in with this mentality that that’s a thing of the past. I’m stepping backwards by teaming with my brother.”

Mixed Tag Team Match: CM Punk & AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch

The panel then turned to the mixed tag team match, highlighting the return of AJ Lee to a WWE ring for the first time in over ten years. Big E, who has known Lee for his entire career, commented on her return.

“It’s kind of mind boggling,” he said. “For the longest time I thought she was completely done… I thought because of her neck, honestly, because of her past issues with management in WWE, I thought this was a woman who was never going to return to the ring… The reason [many women] got into this industry is because of AJ Lee. Her impact is undeniable… seeing what Becky has done to elevate the Intercontinental title, seeing AJ come back with so much love and adoration, I know that’s gonna fuel her, seeing Punk be there with his wife… this is the one.”

Vacant Women’s World Championship: IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer

Discussion of the match to crown a new Women’s World Champion focused on the technical skill of both competitors. Big E expressed his anticipation for the bout.

“If we’re just talking about technical ability, this is the match that I am most looking forward to,” he stated. “This is the match that I think is going to be truly a barn burner. I hope we get 30 minutes out of this one from bell to bell. These two women are going to put on a clinic… I think winning a world championship really gets you noticed, but what starts to put you in that elite class is winning multiple World Championships. It’s reclaiming it… So I think for Iyo, it’s such a great opportunity for her to really add to her legacy.”

Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

Regarding the Undisputed WWE Championship match, Big E analyzed the motivations of both champion Cody Rhodes and challenger Drew McIntyre. He noted McIntyre’s hunger to have a definitive title reign in front of fans.

“Since the Punk feud, I’ve thought Drew McIntyre is going to be a world champion again,” Big E said. “Drew is ready. Man, Drew is hungry… I think a lot of his motivation comes from feeling like he doesn’t get respected. Going back to about four to five years ago, as the man who held that title during the pandemic.” He then questioned the champion’s focus. “I look at Cody Rhodes, a guy who has truly just been the spokesman that we need… but you also start to wonder where his focus is. As someone who is doing 1000 things… when will it finally be too much?”

Singles Match: John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar

Finally, the panel previewed the match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar, which is part of Cena’s ongoing retirement tour. Big E described the unique challenge Lesnar presents.

“Honestly, when I think about all the uncomfortable moments in wrestling… It’s all Brock Lesnar. It’s all Brock,” he said. “He is a scary, scary individual. As someone who has been in the ring with him a few times, that blend of power of speed… I don’t know what this man is made of because I see no decline… This match is going to be brutal. It is going to be physical. It is going to be uncomfortable… If you’re a big Cena fan, you might need to say a prayer… We’re going to have to see the very best version of John Cena.”
