Big Change and Unification Coming for Another WWE Championship?

WWE might not be done with changes to their titles.

#BWE (Better Wrestling Experience) hinted on Thursday night that one of the titles on the SmackDown brand will get an update. In a separate post, #BWE hinted that we might see a unification match. He wrote, “Nxt tag champs vs WWE tag champs? What yall think? Update the current state of the titles maybe?”

The current Women’s Tag Team Champions on the main roster are Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre are the current NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions and they were moved to the main roster during the WWE Draft.

#BWE has been very accurate with his backstage WWE news and most of what he has posted ends up happening on TV so we could see the new title(s) introduced soon. A merger of the NXT and main roster Women’s Tag Team Titles would likely mean that we would see a main roster tag team appearing on NXT more often. The idea to bring in more main roster stars to NXT is a strategy to strengthen the brand. Nick Khan has said publicly that NXT can be its own standalone brand on the level of Raw and SmackDown.

WWE recently introduced the World Heavyweight Championship and crowned Seth Rollins as the first champion. The belt is being promoted as the title that can be defended at any time because the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship held by Roman Reigns is only defended on some PLE events because of Roman Reigns limited schedule.
