The rivalry between World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and CM Punk is reportedly set to add another major chapter, as the two are planned to headline the Saturday Night’s Main Event event on November 1. According to a new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a championship match between “The Visionary” and “The Best in the World” is the current plan for the main event of the show.
If the match comes to fruition, it will be the latest installment in a feud that has been one of the central storylines on Monday Night Raw for the better part of a year. The animosity between Rollins and Punk dates back years, but it was reignited upon Punk’s shocking return to WWE at Survivor Series in 2023. Rollins was visibly irate at Punk’s return and has been one of his most vocal critics ever since.
The rivalry has escalated throughout 2025, culminating in a massive mixed tag team match at the inaugural Wrestlepalooza premium live event in September. At that show, Punk teamed with his wife, AJ Lee, to defeat Rollins and his wife, Becky Lynch, with Punk securing the pinfall victory over the World Heavyweight Champion. That victory has seemingly positioned Punk as the next top contender for the title.
Before he can get to his potential showdown with Punk, however, Seth Rollins has another massive, non-title match to get through. At the WWE Crown Jewel premium live event in Perth, Australia, on October 11, Rollins is scheduled to face the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, in a champion vs. champion match to determine the 2025 Men’s Crown Jewel Champion.
The World Heavyweight Championship picture on Raw is more competitive than ever. In addition to the looming threat of CM Punk, a number of other top stars have recently made their championship aspirations clear. On a recent episode of Raw, both LA Knight and Jey Uso confronted Punk, with both men stating their own claims for a future title opportunity.
