WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair is set to be written off television soon.
A WWE source told WrestlingNews.co that Flair was brought back to the show because Vince McMahon wanted as much star power as possible with ratings declining and several big names not available.
WrestlingNews.co was told that everyone has been careful around Flair to minimize any risks to him due to his age and health issues and Flair is said to be happy with his role as Randy Orton’s manager but it was known from the start when he was brought in for the role that this would be a temporary thing.
Orton will face Big Show tomorrow night on Monday Night Raw and it is widely expected that Orton will move into a feud with Drew McIntyre that will lead to a match at SummerSlam next month.
The Big Show/Orton match is not happening at Extreme Rules because, as noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they needed something for Raw that would hopefully boost the ratings.
