This is somewhat of a surprise because Bautista previously indicated on Twitter that he did not receive an invitation to return for that show. It came across as a bigger insult to him because the show would be taking place in his hometown.
Thankfully, all of that has been resolved. It will be interesting to see if this opens the door for WWE to do more with Bautista. It’s no secret that he’s said that he would welcome one last run and he would like a match with Triple H at WrestleMania.
Smackdown 1000 will air live on Tuesday, October 16. As of this writing, the other big returning name announced for the show is The Undertaker but we’re told that more names from the past will be appearing.
