Josh Mathews rips WWE announcers for ‘copying his style’
During a recent episode of Impact Wrestling, there was a four-way match between Petey Williams, Tarik, Idris Abraham, and Keomia. During the match, Josh Mathews and Jeremy Borash discussed how Petey Williams is the person who created the Canadian Destroyer finishing move, and there have been many people who duplicated it over the years.
The conversation then switched over to others duplicating Mathews, and this is what he said:
“I can sympathize with Petey. People have been copying my style for years… Yeah, a lot. Watch Monday or Tuesday nights.”
In a recent interview, Mathews did admit that Vince McMahon as an announcer was a huge inspiration to his career, and his time in Tough Enough was a launchpad to endeavoring a career in announcing.
