As noted earlier, Becky Lynch is expected back on WWE TV by this weekend at WrestleMania 37.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the plan for Mania is for a “Ding Dong, Hello!” segment hosted by Bayley to take place at some point and Lynch would return by driving a big truck. This would explain why Bayley does not have a match on the show.
Meltzer added that that the plans for Bayley (which will lead to Lynch’s return) are expected to begin playing out on tonight’s episode of SmackDown. Presumably, this means that Bayley will talk about not having a match and she will announce that she will be at Mania.
Bayley hasn’t wrestled since late February but she has done interviews saying that she’s not injured. Lynch has been out of action since last May after she learned that she was pregnant. Lynch gave birth in December and has been training for the last couple of months.
WrestlingNews.co first reported back in October that Vince McMahon was expecting Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey back by WrestleMania. At the time, the word in the company was that things depended on when Lynch was ready to return and whether or not fans would be permitted at shows.
WWE president Nick Khan said this week that Lynch and Rousey are expected back soon. The Lynch vs. Rousey match will likely be held off until next year’s Mania.
