Big E: ‘I Think WrestleMania Is Going To Be A Big Passing Of The Torch Moment’

Big E believes WrestleMania 42 will serve as a defining moment for WWE’s newest generation of stars. Speaking on ESPN’s Get Up ahead of the two-night event at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Big E was asked about the crop of talent making their WrestleMania debuts or early appearances on the card this year.

“Absolutely. I think WrestleMania is going to be a big passing of the torch moment. We have so many massive new stars, Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Lash Legend. I think you’re going to see a lot of young talent really make their name at WrestleMania this year,” Big E said.

The WrestleMania 42 card reflects the depth of NXT’s recent pipeline in a way that few events in recent memory have. Oba Femi, who held the NXT Championship before his main roster call-up, faces Brock Lesnar in an Unsanctioned Match on night two.

Trick Williams brings his own momentum into WrestleMania 42, challenging Sami Zayn for the United States Championship on night two amid double turn speculation and a crowd that has been loudly behind him in recent weeks. Lash Legend, teaming with Nia Jax as the Irresistible Forces, defends the Women’s Tag Team Championships in the night one fatal four way.

WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Night one airs on ESPN and Peacock, with night two exclusively on Peacock.
