Former WWE Champion Big E has made a bold prediction about the future of Dominik Mysterio, stating that he would be “surprised” if the young star does not win a WWE world championship within the next five years. Speaking on the Raw Recap show, Big E reflected on Mysterio’s transformation and growth as a performer, admitting that the idea of him as a future world champion would have been “laughable” just a few years ago.
“The thought of putting the label ‘future world champion’ on Dominik Mysterio three years ago, four years ago, laughable, I’d laugh you out of the building,” Big E said. “But now, is this outside the realm of possibility? Not at all! In fact, I would be surprised if Dominik Mysterio doesn’t hold a world championship within the next five years.”
Since making his in-ring debut at SummerSlam in 2020, “Dirty Dom” has steadily built an impressive resume. He is a former SmackDown Tag Team Champion, having held the titles with his father, Rey Mysterio, and is a two-time NXT North American Champion. Currently, he is in the midst of his first reign as the WWE Intercontinental Champion and also holds the prestigious AAA Mega Championship.
Dominik Mysterio’s journey has been a unique one. He was introduced to the WWE audience as a child, often appearing in storylines with his legendary father. After his official debut as a babyface, he struggled to find his footing and was often criticized for his inexperience. However, his heel turn at Clash at the Castle in 2022, where he betrayed both his father and Edge to join The Judgment Day, was a career-defining moment.
