Billy Gunn interview gets uncomfortable during talk of his WWE firing, non-relationship with Triple H, more

GO Pro Wrestling’s Andrew Khellah recently had the chance to speak with former WWE Tag Team Champion “Bad Ass” Billy Gunn at a show in Butler, NJ.

It was an awkward interview and, at one point, Gunn seemed to get upset when the subject of his WWE firing came up. Click here and here to read more on Gunn’s firing from WWE.

There was an awkward exchange when Khellah tried to ask him his thoughts on the different locker rooms he’s been in over the years. The interview got on somewhat on track but he seemed annoyed when the subject of his WWE exit came up and his relationship (or non-relationship) with Triple H came up. Here are some highlights:

His thoughts on ZZ from Tough Enough:

“Everyone got that wrong.  I love ZZ. He is an awesome kid [and] he is a good kid. He’s just lazy, and I hate lazy. The only person that is allowed to be lazy is me. I can be lazy, he cannot. I think it was just a miscommunication. At that day, at that point in time, he had taken me to my limit so I lost my cool. But he’s an awesome kid. But when he’s not putting forth the effort and he is just sitting in the Tough Enough house and watching TV, then that’s not putting forth an effort so it just came to ahead that day and I had enough.”

On why he left Tough Enough/WWE:

“Because I got fired. It’s not that I left, I got fired. Just say it right out, ‘why did you get fired?’ and I won’t tell you. It’s a secret that everybody on the planet knows except for you. You just wanted to ask the question that I’ve never answered, and I am not going to answer it now.”

On Road Dogg (who works backstage in WWE):

“He’s awesome. Smackdown is his show, best show on TV. Hands down. He’s awesome at it, he’s great at it and I wish him nothing but the best and he’s super cool.”

His memories of Chyna:

“All my memories of Chyna were awesome. She’s an awesome person and I don’t give a rats ass what anybody else thinks. Don’t care. She was probably my best friend in the business other than Brian (Road Dogg).”

He also talked about celebrating his 6th year of sobriety. He said Chyna went through her struggles but she was still an awesome person.

Would he go back to WWE as a coach?:

“Sure I would. I loved coaching… I had a great relationship with almost everybody in the Performance Center so yea I would go back.”

Relationship (or non-relationship) with Triple H:

“Define relationship?”  He continued, “No, no, no. I text him [and] his secretary texts me then he gets back to me. But that’s all good, he’s a busy guy.”

He also talked about The Rock’s success, Brawl For All and more.
