In the main event of WWE NXT: New Year’s Evil, Kyle O’Reilly challenged Finn Balor for the NXT Championship.
They got plenty of time to work because they were given an overrun. Balor retained the title after forcing O’Reilly to tap out to a modified crossface. Balor had worked on O’Reilly’s jaw throughout the match.
The show ended with Balor standing tall as Adam Cole checked on O’Reilly in the corner of the ring.
