On Friday morning, Bobby Lashley and MVP were moved to WWE.com’s Alumni Section, indicating they were done with the company after weeks of reports noting they were exiting the company.
MVP previously worked for WWE from 2005–2010, where he was a two-time United States Champion and one-time Tag Team Champion. MVP returned to WWE in 2020 by working the Men’s Royal Rumble Match because he wanted his son to see him wrestle in a WWE ring again. He had a producer tryout before being brought back full-time as a wrestler/manager and later formed The Hurt business with Lashley. He had been paired as Omos’ manager before being pulled off television.
MVP made a surprise appearance at Bloodsport XI following Josh Barnett’s match against Bad Dude Tito. This is where he challenged Barnett to a future match. His deal expired on August 2nd.
Lashley’s deal expired earlier this month after WWE made him an offer, but it wasn’t one that immediately made him “jump to sign.” Lashley’s first run in WWE was from 2005–2008, during which time he became a two-time ECW and United States Champion. When he returned to WWE in 2018, he became a two-time Intercontinental Champion and won the WWE Championship twice.
PWInsider.com confirmed that both stars have been removed from the company’s internal roster and are currently free agents. They can sign with any promotion they want.
