Bobby Lashley expresses interest in working Fight Pit match

Bobby Lashley is currently on a hot streak as WWE United States Champion, but is looking to do something that hasn’t been done on the main roster yet.

The Raw star did an interview with Sports Illustrated where he noted that he would be interested in a Fight Pit style match.

There have been two Fight Pit matches in NXT thus far, which both featured Timothy Thatcher. He beat Matt Riddle with Kurt Angle as the special guest referee last year as well as against Tommaso Ciampa in January.

“I thought the United States title was perceived for a long time as just another title, but it has so many great names behind it. I’m legit as it gets and I take a lot of pride in defending this title, especially against guys like Matt Riddle and Keith Lee. I saw Riddle’s idea for a Fight Pit and I’d love to do something like that for the U.S. Title, it won’t change the outcome, but it would be a lot of fun.”

Aside from pro wrestling, Lashley is also an MMA fighter and has competed in Bellator MMA. He holds a pro-MMA record of 15-2 and last competed against Josh Appelt in October of 2016.

Lashley also talked about The Hurt Business, wanting to work with Drew McIntyre, and more. Check out the full interview here.
