Bobby Lashley recently did an interview with Alex McCarthy of talkSport where he discussed a wide range of topics.
During the interview, Lashley was asked about Rusev’s WWE departure. Back in April, Rusev was just one of many people who were released by WWE as the company is cutting back on expenses including talent and staff.
Before his WWE release, his last storyline featured his real-life wife, Lana, leaving him for Lashley. It was a long-standing feud last year and in early 2020.
Lashley stated that no matter what people say about Lana, she is an extremely talented person and going to blossom.
“And with Rusev, you know how it is in this business, people come and people go. But with Rusev, I don’t think anyone is debating this: Rusev is an incredible talent.
I loved working with him, [a] great guy across the board. I don’t know what transpired with that – with him leaving – don’t really know. But if it’s back with the WWE or wherever he goes, he’s going to be a superstar. The guy is a superstar.”
Lashley also discussed his return to WWE the night after WrestleMania 34, his desire to be WWE Champion and more. You can check out the full interview here.
