Two WWE Hall of Famers are trading verbal shots over their legendary tag team careers. Booker T and Bubba Ray Dudley, who serve as opposing coaches on the A&E series WWE LFG, have continued their on-screen rivalry off the show, with Booker T questioning the legitimacy of Bubba Ray’s championship history.
Both men are among the most decorated tag team wrestlers of all time. Bubba Ray Dudley has amassed numerous titles across WWE, ECW, WCW, TNA, NWA, and NJPW. However, Booker T believes a significant portion of those reigns shouldn’t be counted on the same level as his own accomplishments.
Speaking with Adrian Hernandez of Unlikely, Booker T specifically took issue with the eight ECW Tag Team Championships held by The Dudley Boyz.
“I didn’t want to say anything. I never wanted to say anything about the ECW Tag Team Championships. Those eight tag team championships. You can’t count those. Those are regional. They’re regional, man,” Booker T said.
Booker T, a multiple-time WCW and WWE Tag Team Champion himself, continued to needle his fellow Hall of Famer, framing his comments as simply telling the truth about their respective careers.
“Always beef with Bubba. I just have to keep Bubba straight. Him and his championship reigns. He’s buffered his championship reigns for many years… For me, I’m just all about telling the truth. Booker ‘Straight Down The Middle’ T. That’s what they call. I’m all about the truth,” he stated.
The friendly rivalry adds another layer to their coaching dynamic ahead of the season two premiere of WWE LFG on Sunday, June 22.
