Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has weighed in on the recent release of Andrade from WWE. On the latest episode of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T praised Andrade as a “hell of a worker” and suggested that a move to AAA, which is now under the WWE corporate umbrella, would be a great next step for him.
Booker T shared his surprise that Andrade hadn’t been used more during his recent run and praised his in-ring ability.“Andrade got released from WWE… I don’t know what happened, but I know that since Andrade came back, he really hadn’t been used a whole lot. I haven’t really seen Andrade out there doing his thing.”
He continued, “Because dude, hell of a worker. I always thought Andrade was a really, really good worker. I always, always thought Andrade kind of, like, tipped his hand a little bit too early on how good he really was, from a luchador perspective, because he had the American style pretty much down, and then he started flying and throwing stuff. This guy’s really, really good.”
He also gave his opinion on what may have held Andrade back from reaching the very top level in WWE. He thinks it is due to his promo skills because of his lack of English.
“He could do everything. Not being able to speak English fluently. It really does [hold you back]. That’s why guys like Eddie [Guerrero] went so far in the business. I mean, because he is fluent in Spanish as well as English, so I think that might have held Andrade back just a little bit. I know, I might get a little bit of heat for that, but I think I’m speaking the truth.”
