On the latest episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T reflected on the legacies of The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz following their final match at TNA’s Bound For Glory. He gave high praise to The Hardys but also made a strong statement about the legitimacy of ECW’s championships.
Booker T declared The Hardy Boyz to be the defining team of their generation. “I give the Hardys that nod as being the greatest tag team of their era, they really are,” he said. He also expressed interest in having the legendary duo make an appearance for his own promotion, Reality of Wrestling, to let local fans “pay homage to a tag team that has done so much for the business.”
When discussing The Dudley Boyz’s long list of championships, Booker T made a clear distinction between what he considers world titles and what he views as regional titles, placing ECW firmly in the latter category. “You can’t count those. You can’t count ECW and you can’t count HUSTLE,” he stated. “The rest of those titles, you count them. Those are legitimate world titles. They were defended all over the world, not like the ECW titles… you’re running shows at 3 a.m. in the morning on the Sunshine Network. Come on. Let’s just keep it real here.”
The “Final Table” match between The Hardy Boyz and Team 3D took place at TNA’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view on October 12, 2025. The bout saw The Hardys retain the TNA and NXT World Tag Team Championships.
