Booker T: ‘I’ve Seen Je’Von Evans Take More Risk In His Short Career Than I Took Throughout My Whole Career’

Booker T addressed the injury scare involving Je’Von Evans that occurred during Monday Night Raw in Belfast. Evans was removed from the match against El Grande Americano after suffering an apparent injury during a commercial break.

Booker T expressed his concern for the young star while discussing the inherent dangers of the wrestling business. “Je’Von Evans, taking a big spill. Now, my thing is, it’s not a matter of if something’s going to happen in this business, just a matter of when, just a matter of when.

And one thing about, and I talk about this all the time, as far as these young guys and taking a risk. Oh, man, all it takes once, all it takes one time. And then you realize, man, I am mortal. I can get hurt.”

He shared his hopes that the situation was not as severe as it looked. I’m hoping, and I’m praying that Je’Von Evans is not injured, and he’s if he is not, if it’s not an angle, I’m hoping he just hurt. We work hurt all the time. Could it have been a stinger? Could it have been a dislocated shoulder that just got popped back in, or something like that? Of course, could it have been something more serious? Yes, it could have.”

The NXT commentator highlighted the high-risk style that Evans employs, comparing it to his own legendary career. “But I’ve seen Je’Von Evans. I’ve seen Je’Von Evans take more risk in his short career than I took throughout my whole career. I’m serious. I’ve done a few things like, you know the I don’t know, off the top rope, scissor kick through the table, right? I’ve done that before. That was high risk. I’ve done that once.”

It should be noted that Evans was reportedly said to be fine after the show and traveled with the rest of the roster.
