On his Hall of Fame with Booker T and Brad Gilmore podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T assessed the future of NXT powerhouse Oba Femi, stating that his time in developmental may be coming to an end.
“He’s Dominated”
When asked where Oba Femi fits into the current landscape, Booker T was clear that Femi has accomplished all he can on the brand.
“I can tell you this. Oba has done a hell of a job in NXT,” he said. “What else is there for Oba Femi really to do? He’s dominated completely. He’s dominated in NXT. He really has.”
Time to “Pull the Trigger”
While acknowledging that the main roster is crowded and timing is everything, Booker T believes Femi is ready for the call-up. “I think Oba can definitely make a big splash on the main roster right now… I think it’s time to pull the trigger. I really do.”
Learning from the Best
Booker T stated that Femi would benefit greatly from being around the top stars on Raw or SmackDown. “I really think Oba Femi can fit in on the main roster, especially with the right players around him right now, to actually be able to, you know, help teach him what it really means to be a main event player,” he said. “I mean, guys like Randy Orton, guys like CM Punk, guys like Roman Reigns, to be around those guys right now is invaluable for somebody like Oba Femi”.
A Dream Match
Co-host Brad Gilmore suggested a dream match for Femi against Brock Lesnar. Booker T endorsed the idea, not just as a spectacle, but as a learning experience. “I think that would be great, too,” Booker said. “I really think, you know, crazy as it sound, I think Brock Lesnar could teach Oba Femi a couple of tricks of the trade.”
