Booker T: Razor Ramon Is “One Of The Greatest Characters WWE Ever Created”

While discussing Scott Hall on the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T elaborated on Hall’s transformation from his earlier personas into the iconic Razor Ramon character in WWE.

Booker T noted the stark difference between Hall and the Razor character. “Well, I’m gonna tell you Scott Hall and Razor Ramon, those two totally different guys,” he said. “Because Scott Hall was truly big…..He was so freaking huge when he was Big Scott Hall, he had that Magnum PI thing going as well, but it wasn’t a gimmick that was ever going to get over”.

He detailed the changes Hall underwent for the new role. “And then he became Razor Ramon, you know, he slammed down, he was, he was cut, his body looked great, he added the accent, you know, that put the hair change. Everything changed when he went, you know, to Razor Ramon,” Booker T explained.

Booker T considers the Razor Ramon character one of WWE’s best creations. “And I tell you, man, I think that was one of the greatest gimmicks, you know, WWE ever created. I really do, I think that was one of the greatest characters that WWE ever created,” he stated.

He also mentioned how deeply Hall embraced the persona, noting that the accent sometimes carried over into real life. “No, I wouldn’t necessarily say the Chico thing, but he definitely adopted the persona totally. I mean, all year round. I mean, hourly, he was that guy, serious. No, he was that guy, you know, everything changed. That’s where Scott Hall goes when he became Razor Ramon,” Booker T recalled. “But I think that’s something that you’ve got to do. You know, you got to really morph into that character in order to really become that character. And I don’t think anybody could have played that character better than Scott Hall, I really do”.
