Booker T Says This WWE Star’s Success Is Something That “Doesn’t Happen”

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T shared immense praise for Stephanie Vaquer, expressing how impressed he has been with her rapid rise and success since joining WWE. The conversation arose from a fan question on his “Hall of Fame” podcast, highlighting her recent achievements, including capturing a championship at the Crown Jewel premium live event.

Booker T revealed he has been a believer in Vaquer from the very beginning. “I’m just glad to be a part of a rise and her success. I’m serious,” he stated. “I always thought Stephanie Vaquer was the one. I said it from the beginning. I said, this one has so much talent inside that square circle, her performance. I always talk about the performance, the before and after. She does all of that so very well. So to see her rise, it’s been awesome.”

A Meteoric Rise

The two-time Hall of Famer described Vaquer’s journey—from her time in CMLL and NJPW to quickly ascending through NXT and winning a main roster world title—as an unusually fast and impressive trajectory. He credited her talent and hard work for making such a significant impact in a short amount of time.

“Such a meteoric rise I’m talking about this has been like Uber fast for Stephanie Vaquer to come through NXT and just totally shock and amaze everybody, and then go to the main roster and win the World title just like that. Are you kidding me?” Booker T exclaimed. “And then go over here to Crown Jewel. This doesn’t happen, people. This doesn’t happen if you’re not that damn good. I’m telling you. Big props.”

Universal Language of Performance

When a fan compared Vaquer’s journey to that of Women’s United States Champion Giulia and asked what Giulia could do to catch up, Booker T dismissed the notion of competition between them. He explained that both women have successfully used the “universal language” of in-ring performance to connect with the audience, regardless of their backgrounds.

“I don’t think Giulia need to do anything to catch up. It’s not a race from that perspective,” he clarified. “I think both of those ladies have come over here to WWE, and they’ve done great, just like the Iyo Skys, they’ve done great being able to work within that universal language that is the squared circle, go out there and make you people go, ‘Oh, man, I really, really like this person here.’”

Stephanie Vaquer is a member of the Raw roster and is the reigning Women’s World Champion. She recently added to her list of accomplishments by winning the Crown Jewel Championship this past Saturday.
