Ken Shamrock is once again working with WWE, this time with the company selling his merchandise, something that began earlier this month.
The career
Shamrock worked for WWE from 1997 to 1999 and stints in TNA in 2002 and 2004. In WWE, he was a former Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion. He also won the King of the Ring in 1998. Meanwhile, in TNA, he held the NWA World Heavyweight Title once.
Shamrock had some memorable matches with the likes of The Rock and Owen Hart at SummerSlam 1998 in a Lion’s Den match. He was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame a few years ago by The Rock. Many people have pushed for Shamrock to go into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Hall of Fame push
On the “Hall of Fame” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T was asked to give his thoughts on WWE inking a legends deal with Shamrock. The WWE NXT announcer thinks Shamrock has earned a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame.
“That’s great Ken Shamrock got a legend deal because he is truly one of the WWE legends, Booker stated. “He brought something to WWE from the mixed martial arts world, and it was real. And Ken did a damn good job while he was a part of WWE. And for him to be on the video games and all of that stuff, it’s cool. Put his name in for the Hall of Fame. Put his name in.”
Booker continued, “He’s always been a big WWE fan. You’ve never heard him say anything stupid about the company other than, ‘Man, why am I not getting in? Why am I not getting a piece of the action?’ I appreciate whoever gave Ken Shamrock the nod to get in deserves it. He deserves it. Some people deserve it. Some people deserve it, and some people never deserve to get in.”
