Booker T says it’s too early to break up The Street Profits but they might need a manager

On the latest episode of “The Hall Of Fame” podcast, Booker T commented on the rumor that WWE wanted to split up The Street Profits. Those plans changed and the decision was made to keep them together.

Here is what Booker said:

Booker T feels it’s too soon for the Street Profits to split up:

“Everybody is really high on Montez doing singles wrestling. The guy is very, very talented, but I don’t know if they’re actually ready for a breakup. I don’t think they’ve been together long enough to break up and make an impact from both sides. Angie (Angelo Dawkins) is going to be looking for a spot too if they were to break up. I think together, they’re better for Angie more so than Montez Ford.  The thing is also, if you put Montez out there, he’s in a sink or swim situation. He’s going to have to go out there and deliver from a singles perspective.  The thing is, you never know what’s going to happen until you’re put in that position.”

“I love Street Profits, but I don’t know. Maybe they’re missing something, maybe a manager or something. There’s something missing for the Street Profits to actually make a huge impact. I don’t know what it is. For me, I know I was in that same position with my brother as Harlem Heat. We were good, but until we got that spark and the rub from Sherri Martel, I don’t ever think we would have been as big as we got if it wasn’t for that. Sometimes you need that extra little bit of a push to actually become something special.”

Nominations for this year’s Latin Grammys came out.  Bad Bunny had several nominations including for best rap song, “Booker T”

Booker T said, “This just goes to show how that song was really popular with the community.  A lot of people really loved the song.  I was listening to it just a couple of days ago and I’m like, ‘This is amazing.’  When I heard about the Grammy nomination, I was like, ‘I’m listening to this again.’  When it comes on, it immediately puts you in a mood.  If you’re in a club, you vibe it.  The thing is, you can be in a club where there is nothing but American speaking people, the song comes on, and you’re still going to start vibing.  You don’t have to know any of the words and you’re still going to start vibing.  This is what we call universal.  It’s crossover.  It’s something you feel more than anything and that’s what the brother captured with the song.  I’m humble to be a part of something like that.  I will be in Vegas for the Latin Grammys that week as well as because Reality of Wrestling may have some big news.  It’s going to be awesome to win that award, get on stage with Bad Bunny, and pump the fist just one time, ‘We did it baby.’”
