WWE Hall of Famer and co-host of the Hall of Fame podcast Booker T recently discussed WWE Superstar Roman Reigns ‘pulling out’ of WrestleMania 36. Originally, Reigns was scheduled to be taking on Goldberg for the Universal Championship, however due to the coronavirus pandemic Reigns has chosen to not compete out of health concerns.
“Roman Reigns made a decision man” Booker T began. “I’m sure it perhaps wasn’t one of his toughest decisions in his life or anything like that. But I’m sure it was tough to say ‘hey man, I’m gonna have to pull out of WrestleMania.’ Just one reason, you know, it’s a huge payday, it’s a huge cheque. [But Roman thinks] I gotta, you know, I got to think about my family. More than any amount of money, it’s very, very important.”
Booker T would elaborate further, saying how he commends Roman for making this decision. “And I commend him for it, man I really do. Because this coronavirus thing is serious. What Roman Reigns has been going through his whole life is very very serious as well. And to be able to say ‘I’m gonna take a pass on this one?’ You know me personally, I respect Roman for doing that. Because he’s thinking about his kids, and he’s thinking about his kids growing up without a dad. If in case something was to…you know? Anything could happen.”
Booker would finish by saying how he believes it was the right decision for Roman Reigns to make. Akin to the report we posted yesterday from Big Show. “And we know that, especially with something like this going on for him? To take a step back, like I said it was a huge, huge decision to make. But, but I really honestly truly think it was right decision for Roman.”
