Braun Strowman was among the wrestlers to be released by WWE on Wednesday.
Strowman took to Twitter to share a new cryptic message by posting lyrics from the song “Free Bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd. He wrote the following:
“If I leave here tomorrow Would you still remember me? For I must be traveling on now ‘Cause there’s too many places I’ve got to see!!!!”
Strowman signed with WWE in 2013 and was introduced as a member of The Wyatt Family on the main roster. While with WWE, he won the Universal and Intercontinental Titles once in addition to being a two-time Raw Tag Team Champion. He also won the 2018 Men’s Money in the Bank match.
It’s been reported that Omos moving up to WWE Raw played a big part in Vince McMahon’s decision to let Strowman go. It has to be noted that in a time where WWE is trying to save as much money as possible, Strowman reportedly having a $1.2 million a year contract also likely played a factor.
Strowman is currently serving his 90-day WWE non-compete clause. He’ll be free to sign with other promotions in August.
