Braun Strowman was among the wrestlers to be released by WWE on Wednesday.
For the majority of his time on the main roster in WWE, he was positioned in a top role with always a storyline, which is why many fans were surprised that he was released.
Aside from his position on TV, another reason people were surprised that he was let go was due to Strowman signing a big-money deal with WWE in 2019 that was supposed to last until 2023.
Strowman made a short statement after the news of his departure via a post on Twitter by writing:

Strowman signed with WWE in 2013 and was introduced as a member of The Wyatt Family on the main roster. During his time with WWE, he won the Universal and Intercontinental Titles once in addition to being a two-time Raw Tag Team Champion. He also won the 2018 Men’s Money in the Bank match.
