Braun Strowman’s WrestleMania match still up in the air

WrestleMania 34 will happen on April 8th no matter what WWE has put together at that point. But obviously, they are looking to build a great show because that’s the reputation of Mania.

Braun Strowman was booked incredibly strong at the Elimination Chamber and that wasn’t by mistake either. As it turns out, WWE seems to be holding off on making anything official for Braun until they get some things figured out in regards to the main event.

The Braun Strowman thing that we speculated on Monday that is the case,” Dave Meltzer confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio. “The reason they took Braun Strowman out of The Miz match is because they felt it was very important to have a backup for more Roman Reigns than Brock.”

“The thing is they’re shuffling things because they don’t want to have to shuffle around the whole card so what they’re gonna do is create a new card. So instead of Miz and then having to pull that and then start from scratch they’re going with Miz, Finn Balor, and Seth Rollins in a three-way and Strowman, I guess he could work with Elias. I guess if Samoa Joe’s ready he could work with Samoa Joe. If they decree I guess they could make that Brock Lesnar/Roman Reigns a three-way. I mean they could do that as well and perhaps they should.”

“I mean Strowman is the most over guy. I mean my god, it’s so weird to me watching the way that [Elimination Chamber] match was booked on Sunday because when that match was over you know the idea of the idea of the match should be, ‘man I wanna see Roman Reigns go against Brock Lesnar that’s the main event at WrestleMania and that is the match I wanna see.’ And when [Elimination Chamber] was over I don’t think there was a person alive who had that reaction.”

I was duly noted that Braun Stowman was booked to be the biggest star in the Elimination Chamber match. WWE protected Strowman like a huge star in the match and they are reportedly hedging their bets and holding off on Strowman because they never know if he could be needed to fill in a very big hold in the WrestleMania card if things don’t pan out for Roman Reigns regarding the ongoing Jon Bravo documentary.

Therefore, The Miz vs Braun Strowman for WrestleMania 34 is out because WWE could have even bigger plans for The Monster Among Men if they need him.
