It seems like WWE fans were united in their disgust for the way the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view ended on Sunday night. Fans pointed out how this was the second year in a row there’s been an inconclusive finish to a Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Last year, Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman did not have a conclusive finish because of interference from Brock Lesnar.
Last night, there were loud chants from fans asking for refunds and there were very loud AEW chants during the broadcast and after they went off the air after fans realized that what they saw was indeed the end of the show.
As you can see by clicking here, the reaction was not what Vince McMahon would want especially with AEW Dynamite gaining traction on TNT. Even the Watch Along panel had a hard time covering up for the horrible finish. You can see their reaction (Sean Waltman’s reaction is worth watching) by clicking here.
Meanwhile, while he didn’t say much with words, Bray Wyatt took to Twitter to react to some of the outrage with a GIF:
For what it’s worth, there were many people in the company who realized that there was a major miscalculation made with the match last night. I was told that the idea was to just get through the show and move onto Crown Jewel later this month and next month’s Survivor Series pay-per-view.
