The Wrap has an article featuring an interview with Martha Hart, the wife of the late Owen Hart, to promote the Dark Side of the Ring episode on Owen’s death that is set to air this Tuesday night on Vice.

The interview covered Martha’s relationship with Owen’s brother, Bret Hart, and his response to the comments that she had made about him.

Their history has been well documented over the years. According to Martha, their main issues are due to her not allowing WWE to induct Owen Hart into its Hall of Fame as Bret wants Owen to get that accomplishment for his legendary pro wrestling career.

Martha did make some interesting comments aside from her position about the Hall of Fame induction. She stated that Bret was supportive throughout the lawsuit between her and WWE. However, there was a problem with Bret.

She claimed that during the lawsuit, Bret was hoping that she would be able to help him get his wrestling footage because he had no relationship with WWE at the time.

“He was hoping somehow — if we ever had a settlement — that we could work it in.” When that didn’t happen, he was very upset that he didn’t get his footage. It prompted him to befriend Vince [McMahon] again so he could have access to his footage. That was the first fracture in our relationship.”

The Wrap reached out to Bret, who gave his response to her comments by issuing the following statement:

“While I am not interested in engaging in any more media mudslinging between Martha and myself especially in light of a global pandemic, I will say that our fallout is multifaceted. To say that it only involved being able to access and use my WWE footage and photos for future projects would merely be an oversimplification and inaccurate. I will not comment any further on the matter.”

Martha also talked about Vince McMahon, the night that Owen passed away and more. You can check out the full interview here.
