Bret Hart: “When I See Roman Reigns Wrestle, He’s Always In Control…He Just Never Seems To Panic”

WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart recently shared insights into his personal wrestling “Mount Rushmore” and offered high praise for current top star Roman Reigns during an appearance on the “Rosenberg Wrestling” podcast with Peter Rosenberg.

When discussing the elite figures he’d place on his wrestling Mount Rushmore, representing the top four greats in his view, Hart definitively included one of his most iconic rivals. “He’s (Steve Austin) on my Mount Rushmore for sure,” Hart confirmed.

Perhaps more notably, given their storied and often tumultuous history, Hart stated that Shawn Michaels warrants consideration. “I think that Shawn is in that conversation. I really do,” Hart said. While acknowledging Michaels’ past difficulties (“He had a lot of issues, personal issues, and things like that”), Hart lauded his in-ring ability: “You can’t deny his body of work and just how good a wrestler he was.”

Separately, the legendary technical wrestler shared his observations on Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, complimenting his composed in-ring style. Hart contrasted Reigns with other performers he sometimes perceives as less poised.

“When I watch a lot of the younger guys or the guys that have come up, I see that sort of erratic kind of panic sometimes, where they rush into stuff,” Hart explained. “But when I see Roman Reigns wrestle, he’s always in control. He’s always very calm.”

Hart elaborated on Reigns’ apparent ring psychology and execution: “He’s always kind of already got it figured out what the next sequence of moves are going to be and how he’s going to do them and how he’s going to execute them. He just never seems to panic.”
