Brie Bella is open to returning to the ring for one final run, but it appears she will only do so if she can team with her sister, Nikki Bella. While Nikki is currently in the midst of a solo comeback in WWE, Brie has remained on the sidelines since her last appearance in the 2022 Royal Rumble.
Bryan Danielson Says Brie Is Not Interested In Singles Competition
Speaking on a recent episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Bryan Danielson addressed the possibility of his wife returning to the squared circle. He clarified that while the door isn’t closed, Brie has no desire to compete as a singles wrestler at this stage in her life.
“Only in certain contexts,” Danielson said when asked if she would return. “She doesn’t want to come back and do like a singles run or anything like that. If she comes back, she would want to do it with [Nikki]. But I think there’s something in her, too, that — and I can appreciate this — because our kids see her as just a mom. ‘Just a mom,’ as if that isn’t the hardest job in the world. Part of her, I think, has a desire to have the kids see her in that light [as a wrestler].”
Nikki Bella’s Current Solo Run In WWE
Nikki Bella returned to WWE earlier this year but has been navigating the division without her twin sister. Her current run has featured high-profile matches, including a recent bout at Survivor Series where she unsuccessfully challenged Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship.
The ‘Roadblock’ To A Return
Brie stated earlier this year that she felt Danielson’s employment with AEW was a “roadblock” preventing WWE from bringing her back. However, Danielson wrapped up his full-time in-ring career in 2024 and has since transitioned to a commentary role on AEW Dynamite.
Nikki Bella Hopes To Finish Her Career With Brie
Nikki Bella recently confirmed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that her current WWE tenure will be her final run in professional wrestling. She also admitted during a recent appearance on Get Up that the experience has been “quite lonely” without her sister by her side. “I’ve built not only this legacy with Brie, but this empire with her. It’s been quite a journey without her, but I hope I can finish it with her,” Nikki said.
