Brie Bella On WWE Status: “My Roadblock Is The Fact That My Husband Is With The Rival Company”

While Nikki Bella continues her WWE comeback run, her twin sister Brie has remained absent from television. On a new episode of their podcast, Brie Bella opened up about the situation, suggesting that a major “roadblock” to her own return is the fact that her husband, Bryan Danielson, works for AEW.

Brie Bella On The ‘Roadblock’ To Her WWE Return

Speaking on the Nikki & Brie Show, Brie explained what she believes is the primary reason she has not been back in a WWE ring. She stated her belief that some people in WWE would be “uncomfortable” having her there while her husband is with a rival promotion.

“I know my roadblock is the fact that my husband is with the rival company. For some people, it makes them uncomfortable at WWE, thinking I would be there when my husband is with AEW,” Brie said. “Does it bum me out at times that I wish feelings were different? Absolutely, but it doesn’t make me angry or bitter.”

Clarifying The ‘Waiting On The Call’ Joke

Brie also clarified her frequent joke in interviews that she is “waiting on the call” from WWE, explaining that it’s partly true and partly a “cheeky and sweet” way to move on to the next question. She noted that her husband, Bryan Danielson, has retired as a full-time wrestler but remains with AEW in a backstage capacity.

While Brie remains on the sidelines, her twin sister Nikki continues her comeback tour on Monday Night Raw. On tonight’s go-home episode for SummerSlam, Nikki Bella is scheduled to team up with Stephanie Vaquer, Rhea Ripley, and IYO SKY to take on the team of Women’s World Champion Naomi, Chelsea Green, and the Secret Her-vice in a massive eight-woman tag team match.

The Nikki & Brie Show, hosted by Nikki and Brie Garcia, is available anytime on the SiriusXM app. New episodes are released every Monday and Thursday. Watch the latest episode below.
