Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho in heated altercation backstage at SummerSlam

There was a somewhat physical altercation at SummerSlam between Chris Jericho and Brock Lesnar. Dave Meltzer is reporting that the altercation stemmed from what happened with Lesnar’s match with Randy Orton.

Several sources are saying that Jericho went to the gorilla position around the time that the match ended so he could see if Orton was ok and to find out what happened. Jericho asked Michael Hayes if that was supposed to be the finish of the match. When Hayes refused to answer him, Jericho said, “That’s bullsh*t.”

Lesnar was coming back from the ring and heard what Jericho said and called Jericho a “p*ssy.” Another version of the story was that Lesnar told Jericho to “shut up” and to mind his own business. That’s when they got face to face and words were exchanged and one person there said that they were shouting at each other the entire time. Lesnar pushed Jericho with his fingers and then Jericho came back at him with what was described as a “Tousey-Tate” forehead press.

Lesnar and Jericho then tangled up against the wall and that’s when Lesnar dared Jericho to punch him. Triple H broke things up but they went at it again until Vince McMahon stepped in to break things up. Jericho yelled some more things about Lesnar and McMahon told Jericho that it was all a work and that he needed to be a professional. Triple H, according to sources, told McMahon that Lesnar started it and that Jericho was just standing up for himself.

Jericho then saw Orton and got mad because he saw how badly he was beaten but Orton assured Jericho that he knew what was coming at the end of that match.
