Brock Lesnar not done with WWE

Brock Lesnar has his first post-SummerSlam appearance booked as WWE will return with its Day 1 premium event on January 1, 2023, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

The arena confirmed the news on Twitter and shared its promotional material, featuring Brock Lesnar.

WWE introduced the new event this year, which was an idea from co-CEO Nick Khan. It was supposed to be headlined by Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship, but that bout was changed because Roman tested positive for COVID-19. Lesnar was moved to the WWE Title match, where he won the championship.

Once Lesnar walked out of SmackDown shortly after Vince McMahon announced his retirement, there had been people speculating that Lesnar could be leaving the company since he would no longer be doing business with McMahon. Lesnar returned for the show’s final segment and went on to work the scheduled last man standing match with Reigns at SummerSlam.

As previously reported by Dave Meltzer, Lesnar has worked out a new deal with the company, so everything is seemingly fine between the two sides, and he will continue to work for WWE with Triple H in charge of creative.

Tickets for the event are currently listed as “on sale soon.”
