Brock Lesnar set two WWE records with his Royal Rumble victory

Brock Lesnar worked two matches at last Saturday’s WWE Royal Rumble event and made history in the process.

Earlier in the night, Lesnar lost the WWE Championship to Bobby Lashley after Paul Heyman turned on him by handing the WWE Title to Roman Reigns in order for “The Tribal Chief” to cost “The Beast” the championship.

Lesnar later entered and won the Men’s Royal Rumble match to earn the right to challenge Reigns for the Universal Title at WrestleMania 38. Lesnar entered the match at #30 where he proceeded to eliminate five stars in under 3 minutes.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Lesnar set two Royal Rumble records. He spent the least amount of time in the ring of a Royal Rumble winner at just 2:32.

Also, it was the most years in between winning the match at 19 years. His first Royal Rumble victory came in 2003 where he would go on to beat Kurt Angle for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 19.
