Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley not happening, WWE has WrestleMania-level plans for SummerSlam

There’s been a lot of talk about WWE’s big plans for SummerSlam since they are expecting somewhere around 60,000 to 70,000 fans at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV.

The big rumor is that John Cena will face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship on that show and there have been rumors swirling about Bobby Lashley facing Brock Lesnar.

The Lesnar match is something that Lashley has been pushing for years, even before he returned to WWE. WWE has been in talks with Lesnar about returning but, as reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lesnar vs. Lashley is not planned. Dave Meltzer noted that the match was not happening, as of a week ago.

Meltzer added that even though Lesnar’s name has been talked about for the show, it doesn’t look like it will work out. So, unless they are able to work out a deal within the next couple of months, it looks like Lesnar will not be on the show.

WWE is looking to load up that show with big names. It was already reported by the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast that Cardi B will be the host. There’s no word yet on who else might be brought in to be part of the card.
