Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton rematch result from tonight’s WWE live event in Chicago

Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton faced off at the live event in Chicago on Saturday night. It was a rare house show appearance for Lesnar and, according to correspondents at the show, they drew a better than average crowd but they did not sell out the arena. The question going into this match was what they had planned for the match finish. Would Orton get a win to even the odds and possibly further their feud on WWE TV or would Lesnar get another win and put an end to his feud with Orton?

Surprisingly, the match took place before intermission. Paul Heyman cut a promo before the match started and said that his client didn’t just want a regular rematch with Randy Orton because it would not be good enough for Chicago. Heyman said that Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley have agreed that there would be no count outs, no DQ’s and no stopping for blood either if his client is in the mood for blood. Heyman called it the first-ever “Suplex City Death Match.” He also introduced Lesnar as being from “The University Of Violence.”

Lesnar nailed Orton with several suplexes, as expected, but Orton held his own and introduced a chair into the match. Orton hit a couple of RKO’s during the match but Lesnar kicked out of them. In the end, Lesnar hit the F5 and got the pin on Orton. The match went about 5 minutes so that explains why the match was not saved for the end of the show. After the match, Lesnar went back in the ring with a chair and it looked like he was going to nail Orton with it but he chose to hit Orton with three more suplexes.

I wanted to add a quick side note on the show. Sheamus and Cesaro have been wrestling at live events around the country and he lost by submission to Cesaro’s sharpshooter on Saturday night. It’s funny because they’ve been pushing their best of 7 series on TV. You would think that they would keep them apart at live events but that’s not the case.

We’ll have complete results from the show up on the site shortly.
